This book is part of a series of works by SELSABIL editions aimed at making precious Muslim heritage known. Here, it is a major theme: exegesis (tafsir) which is the key to understanding the sacred Book: the Quran. If Ibn Kathîr and al-Tabarî known in the French-speaking world compiled accounts around each verse, al-Qurtubî (1214/600 - 1273/671) in his monumental exegesis work "Al-Jâmi' li Ahkâm al-Qur'ân" went further by authenticating the accounts and deducing from each verse the articles of law (ahkâm). He was nicknamed by the scholars of this discipline "the imam of exegetes".
